Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Bahawalpur was established in 1977 when it was separated from Multan Board. Now BISE Bahawalpur has the responsibility to conduct annual and supply exams of matric and intermediate classes in the districts of Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan. All the public and private schools and colleges in these districts are affiliated with Bahawalpur Board and every year thousands of students appear in the SSC and HSSC exams conducted by BISE Bahawalpur. Bahawalpur Board conducts exams for the southernmost districts of Punjab.

All the schools and colleges under Bahawalpur Board start the matric and intermediate classes according to a regular schedule. New academic year for SSC and HSSC classes start from April and September respectively. The admission and registration process of new students for these classes begins couple of months earlier than the start of the new academic year and completes according to the schedule.

Almost every year, paper pattern and examination syllabus is altered by BISE Gujranwala. The students should use model papers in order to know about the new paper pattern and syllabus of exams while these model papers are provided by the board. On the other hand, students can also increase their marks in exams by using the past papers which contain important questions which are repeated by the board from time to time. These past papers are available from the market.

Bahawalpur Board issues the date sheets and roll number slips separately before the start of the exams. 9th and 10th class exams start in March while starting month of 11th and 12th class exams is May. For both these exams, date sheets are issued two months earlier and roll number slips are sent 1 month before the start of the exams. Date sheets are available at the official site of BISE Bahawalpur while the students can receive their roll number slips at their mentioned addresses.

SSC and HSSC exams are conducted by Bahawalpur Board every year according to a schedule. BISE Bahawalpur issues the results of these exams after two or three months of the exams. The concerned students can see their online results at the official site of the board soon after the announcement of result by inserting their roll numbers in the given space. The board also posts result cards to the addresses of the students which reach their destination within few days of the declaration of results.
